Science on the Hill is back this summer!

Antibiotics have been used to treat infections for over 80 years. However, now we have a major global crisis with microbes becoming resistant to available drugs. These antibiotic resistant ‘Superbugs' kill millions of people every year, yet antimicrobial resistance (AMR) remains an invisible threat. Come join us for a discussion on AMR, to hear about what researchers at Warwick are doing to combat this problem, and to learn how you can help keep our antibiotics working.

Doors open at 5:30pm and light refreshments will be provided. Talks begin at 6:00pm.

Please note the recommended age for this event is 14+ and all under-18s must be accompanied by an adult.

This event is organised by the School of Life Sciences and Warwick Medical School and shared by Resonate.

The Distinguished Africa Lecture is Warwick’s flagship annual event exploring Africa, global knowledge systems and technological change.

The event begins with the Africa Panel Discussion on building more impactful partnerships between universities in the Global North & South.

Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, Vice‑Chancellor of the University of Ghana will deliver a keynote speech.

Her lecture will be on Whose Language Counts? African Voices, Knowledge Systems and the Future of AI.

It will examine how African languages and perspectives can shape an inclusive future for artificial intelligence.

We are excited to welcome the whole of the University of Warwick community to come and celebrate our amazing PGRs. This Festival is free to attend.

Our PGRs will be showcasing their work through live Presentations, Exhibitions and Community Showcases.

We will have a range of parallel interactive Development Session to support PGRs to develop the Doctoral Value - Learning & Personal Growth, an engaging Keynote speaker to open the Festival, and a closing Plenary Panel to showcase different stages in research career journey.
