Languages@Warwick new look!

Two big changes have been completed over the summer to our moodle based platform:

Users of Languages@Warwick no longer have to remember different user account details, you can sign in using your ITS account details. If you are new to working with us, your account will be linked to your course during the next week or so, as enrolment is completed.

Our site also has a fresh new look, in line with Warwick's new branding. You will be able to access your course materials and interact with your group and tutor from your laptop, tablet or smartphone too. We hope you like it.

Open badges and Online Intercultural Exchange

The Clavier virtual exchange project is now in its 4th year and this year implemented open badges to credentialise the computer-mediated communication skills our participants are acquiring.

The Languages@Warwick site is identified as an exemplar of a robust, flexible digital environment by the UK lead body Jisc.

Languages@Warwick migration

To all Languages@Warwick users.

After a complete platform review this year we have decided to change our hosting provider to Moodlerooms. This will bring numerous advantages including:

o a more modern look and feel

o better support for our key plug ins (BB collaborate, Kaltura, Equella)

o additional reporting and analytics for all users

o easier sub-theming for other users who have their own categories on the site

Kaltura at the Language Centre

The Language Centre at University of Warwick, one of the UK’s leading universities, announced today that is has selected Kaltura, the leading open source video platform (http://www.kaltura.com), to power video for teaching and learning. The Language Centre is deploying Kaltura’s full-featured video extension for Moodle, as well as its own video portal, based on Kaltura’s MediaSpace video portal application.
