Warwick History of Art earns 93.8% overall score in subject league table for 2022.

We have been rated as one of the top three departments teaching History of Art in the country. The rankings are based on official data collected by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (Hesa) and the National Student Survey (NSS). Find out more in the Guardian University Guide 2018.

The Guardian University Guide 2017 has placed History of Art at Warwick in the UK top 10. The rankings are based on official data collected by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (Hesa) and on the National Student Survey published by Hefce.

The Department is rated as one of the top ten departments teaching History of Art in this year's Complete University Guide. Moving up one position, the Department is placed 10th in the latest league table, which ranks departments by "measures important to students", including student satisfaction, graduate prospects, and research quality.

REF success for Warwick History of Art!

The History of Art department’s status as one of the country’s leading departments has been confirmed by the results of the Research Excellence Framework.

The REF assesses the quality of each department’s research, as well as the public impact of that research, and the environment in which it is undertaken.

The department was 2nd for publications awarded the highest rating of 4* or ‘world-leading’, with 46% of our publications rated as world-leading.

For 4* ratings across all aspects of the REF, we were the 4th placed History of Art department.

According to the Research Fortnight Quality Index, Warwick was ranked 6th overall for History of Art.

History of Art: no one scores higher on satisfaction with teaching.

The Department of History of Art has achieved a top result in the Guardian University Guide 2015, with 96.5 % of students expressing satisfaction with teaching. The score in this category is based on the National Student Survey, and gives the percentage of final-year students satisfied with the teaching they received.
