A very productive visit to the Côte d’Ivoire was had by Kat and Sam last week during which nuances of the sleeping sickness transmission model for the country were refined. Through discussions with the PNETHA-Côte d’Ivoire and IRD teams, a cost-effectiveness analysis for sleeping sickness elimination strategies is underway, led by Sam (HAT MEPP) and Koné (PNETHA) . There was even a bit of time to enjoy some traditional local dancing!

Great to see HAT MEPP's research being represented at the EPIDEMICS8 Conference (30 Nov – 3 Dec 2021) this week by our fantastic modellers Ron Crump and Ching-I Huang! Ching-I presented her work on Tuesday 30th Nov on quantifying the impacts and cost-effectiveness of intensified interventions against sleeping sickness in the Mandoul focus of Chad and Ron will be presenting his work on Thursday 2nd Dec on inferring missing screening data to uncover the dynamics of gHAT in Uganda today. Well done and good luck both!
