The ENHANCE team are proud to present our second book "Transcending Humanitarian Engineering Strategies for Sustainable Futures". This book contains work by ENHANCE collaborators from all participating institutions as well as members of our broader network.

ENHANCE Taster Event (UK)

Our second ENHANCE taster event that took place in Coventry UK, 27 February – 8 March 2023, organized by the University of Warwick. The event included a Conference for showcasing humanitarian engineering education and research, titled “Engineering and Science for Deeply Uncertain Times”, project management activities, design and make activities with students, training on sustainable education, educational trips to sustainable communities (e.g. Hockerton housing project) and field trip to the Warwick Crop Centre for sustainable agriculture, horticulture and food security discussions and activities. Almost 40 lecturers from the partner institutions joined the event activities. ENHANCE Training Kit, ENHANCE app and ENHANCE Taxonomy were widely introduced to lecturers. More awareness about innovative pedagogical approaches in humanitarian engineering was raised.

ENHANCE Local Dissemination Events

Three dissemination events in Bangladesh, Indonesia and Vietnam

ENHANCE delivered a series of dissemination events in the three partner countries in October 2022. These events brought together experts, stakeholders, and the public to showcase the project's breakthroughs, fostering greater understanding and engagement with cutting-edge innovations. Our events involved more than 400 attendees. Key highlights of the events were the ENHANCE Taxonomy, App and Training Kit attracting interest and enthusiasm about their transformative power in higher education.

UB Students participate in student community service

This summer Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Indonesia participated in collaborative student community service (SCS) together with ITB, UGM and the ENHANCE project. This year the collaborative SCS has taken place in Ciroyom village, Tasikmalaya regency of West Java.

Summer School: The Role of Engineers and Scientists During Pandemic Era

Our partner university, Universitas Gadjah Mada led an International Summer Course on Humanitarian Engineering focusing on the Role of Engineers and Scientists During Pandemic Era in July this year. 137 students from ten different countries came together to develop and share their knowledge and enthusiasm for humanitarian matters in engineering.

Webinar on Humanitarian Engineering for Sustainable Development
