Moodle Theme and Ally updates

This is to the Moodle theme has been applied this morning. The new accessibility tool Blackboard Ally has been switched on at the same time.

Moodle Upgrade July 2022

We are still expecting Moodle to upgrade to version 3.11 on Tuesday 12 July 2022. This process normally takes at least half a day, but as this is a significant piece of work the VLE should be considered at risk and potentially unavailable for the whole day. There will be some minor improvements and bug fixes but the interface and menus will remain very similar and recognisable.

Moodle 3.4 feature highlights

On Tuesday 17th July 2018 the University's Moodle system will be upgraded to version 3.4. Moodle v3.4 introduces new features and enhancements.

Moodle 3.4 has a major focus on usability and making the learning platform more powerful and user-friendly.

The Extended Classroom Support team have put together a Guide to Moodle 3.4

Moodle Upgrade

Moodle will be upgraded from version 3.2 to 3.4 on Tuesday 17th July. The process will begin at 7am and during the upgrade Moodle will be in maintenance mode and will be unavailable to all users. Unlike in previous years, there will be no read-only version available and if a user attempts to login they will see a message informing them that Moodle cannot be accessed.

Once Moodle has been successfully upgraded, the Extended Classroom Support Team will begin testing and they expect to have Moodle available by early afternoon, although this cannot be guaranteed.

Moodle will be undergoing a planned annual upgrade on Thursday 14th July, from version 2.8 to version 3.0.
