PhD Thesis Prize 2015: Winners announced

Earlier this year we announced that we were sponsoring the Faculty PhD Thesis Prize 2015, providing £500 in prize money to each department to award outstanding PhD students for their doctoral research.

Following the announcement of the inaugural Faculty of Science Doctoral Thesis Awards, two winners have travelled from China and Vienna to collect their prizes.

The Faculty of Science held an end of term event on Wednesday 23^rd July, where the winners Dr Emanuele Maggio and Dr Xin Lu received their certificates and prizes.

Computer Science Postgraduate student Xin Lu, has flown to Warwick from China to collect the Faculty of Science Best Doctoral Thesis prize for his thesis entitled "Efficient algorithms for scalable video coding".
