Success at the RSC ESR meeting

A number of iMR CDT funded students contributed to the RSC ESR group's annual international conference 2016, held in Colchester. Claire Motion won an award from the internationl EPR society for her poster. Current student Michael Stevens participated in the student prize lecture competition along with our recent graduate Dr Matthew Dale who received a runner up prize.

Our 2015 research conference took place at the University of Warwick from 15th to 16th April 2015. Over 50 delegates were treated to talks from a number of international keynote speakers, 18 of our third and fourth year PhD students, and poster presntations from second year students.

The 2014/15 Research Conference is provisionally scheduled to take place at the University of Warwick, 14-16th April 2015. This will be preceded by the second advanced workshop for students in the 2013/14 entry.

RSC ESR group meeting success

Congratulations to iMR CDT funded students Michael Stevens, Matthew Dale and Mika Tamski who won prizes at the recent Royal Society of Chemistry ESR group meeting in Dundee (6-10/4/2014). Mika was a runner up in the JEOL student prize lecture competition with his talk 'Electrochemical Electron Paramagnetic Resonance utilizing microelectrodes and loop gap resonators". Michael's poster "An investigation into the suitability of Rx as a spin label for orientation studies using W-band pulsed electron paramagnetic resonance (PELDOR)" claimed first place in the poster competition while Matthew was runner up with his poster "GPa uniaxial stress of single crystal samples".

iMR CDT Workshops 2013/14

The University of Warwick welcomed 26 participants for the Kick-Off workshop 2013, which took place 2nd-6th December. Following on from this successful workshop registration is now open for the 2014 Advanced Workshops and Research Conference, which will take place in Dundee 10th-13th April 2014.
