      <title>IER welcomes Professor Paul Edwards</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;img src="https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/ier/edit-contents/edwards-paul-cropped-230x230.jpg" border="0" alt="edwards-paul-cropped-230x230.jpg" style="margin: 5px; float: left;" /&gt;Professor Paul Edwards will be joining IER as an Honorary Professor. His research career began with the study of workplace industrial relations and industrial conflict. He has subsequently studied new management practices in the workplace and managerial careers, both in the UK and in international comparison. Current research is focusing on small firms and their employment practices, with a particular emphasis on firms run by new migrant to the UK.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>IER welcomes Professor Ray Markey</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;img style="margin: 10px; border: 0px currentColor; float: right;" alt="ray-markey.jpg" src="https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/ier/news/ray-markey.jpg?maxWidth=125" border="0" /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.businessandeconomics.mq.edu.au/contact_the_faculty/all_fbe_staff/markey,_ray"&gt;Professor Ray Markey&lt;/a&gt;, Director of the Centre for Workforce Futures of Macquarie University, from Sydney in Australia is visting IER for the next few weeks. Professor Markey is an industrial relations expert and comes to us on an Institute of Advanced Study (IAS) fellowship joint with the Industrial Relations Research Unit (IRRU).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Professor Markey will be giving two talks, one of which will be about possible collaborative research projects between his centre and IER. The other talk will be on climate change and the workplace.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
