When:

 10:30am
 -
 12pm, Wed, 20 May '26

Where: Faculty of Arts

Our Social Inclusion in Practice workshops are designed to turn awareness into action. Inclusion isn’t just a concept—it’s a daily practice that shapes how we work, collaborate, and create opportunities for everyone. These sessions provide practical tools, real-world examples, and open conversations to help embed inclusive behaviours across all levels of our University.

Why are these workshops important?

Build understanding: Inclusion goes beyond policies—it’s about people. These workshops help us understand the lived experiences of others and the barriers they face.

Drive change: By learning practical strategies, we can actively remove obstacles and create environments where everyone feels valued and respected.

Empower teams: Inclusive practices lead to stronger collaboration, innovation, and engagement.

The Social Inclusion team are excited to announce a series of in-person workshops designed to support inclusive practices and effective team management. Each term, we will deliver one session of the following workshops:

• Conscious Inclusion

• Respectful Disagreement

• Managing Diverse Teams

• Providing Adjustments

• Equality Impact Assessments (EIAs)

Each workshop focuses on a specific aspect of inclusion, offering actionable steps you can take immediately. Please review the dates below and select the session(s) you’d like to attend.

Spaces are limited to 16 participants per session, and a waiting list will be managed to avoid disappointment.

Conscious Inclusion in-person workshop introduces the foundational concepts needed to better understand diversity and support inclusion. It aims to provide a supportive space for colleagues to reflect on the role of bias in the workplace, understand the ethical and legal boundaries of workplace behaviour, and consider what their own personal biases might be. By exploring these concepts, the workshop contributes to a culture of shared awareness where staff feel comfortable, valued, and empowered to help others feel the same. Click here to book your place.
