      <title>Provision of new and rationalisation of existing Kyocera MFDs across the Managed Print Service</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;As part of our continued drive to modernise and improve the service we will be carrying out an upgrade to 230 (109x A3 and 121x A4) devices within the&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://warwick.ac.uk/services/its/servicessupport/printing/manageddeptprinting/"&gt;Managed Print Service&lt;/a&gt; (MPS) fleet across campus from the 18th December onwards.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;During this process we will also be removing and retiring existing MFDs based upon two key factors:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The ongoing financial cost to provide the service&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The reduced volumes being produced with customer's and colleagues WFH and operating in a far more digital focused environment&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This is in direct response to changing patterns of usage within the print environment at Warwick and the wider print industry.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We will of course closely monitor print volumes and device reliability patterns and can look to reinstate devices as and when deemed absolutely necessary.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This does remain a judgement call for the Managed Print Service (MPS).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The service is provided free at the point of use and has no recharge activities taking place on a quarterly basis for all departments apart from the WSU.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We welcome the opportunity to discuss this policy with all of our colleagues and customers on a case by case basis as needed.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;hr /&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The benefits to our staff and student customers of the newer devices of these planned works will include:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;More modern and reliable - fewer jams&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Faster print times - less waiting for your jobs&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Higher quality/resolution print output - better quality printed documents&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Enhanced transparency sheet print capabilities - deeper black production and better defined text output&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Higher toner yields - fewer cartridge orders, less plastic waste, fewer toner deliveries&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Reduced diversity of toner cartridges - less complexity, less confusion and a much simpler supply and support model&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Reduced plastic waste - using the empty black cartridge as a fresh waste box and lower energy consumption&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Larger, more sensitive and responsive touchscreens - easier to use and more accessible&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The use of encrypted hard disks and walk up, wake up presence sensors - more secure and faster to use&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Smaller physical footprint - saving valuable office space&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The retirement of slower, older, energy hungry legacy MFDs - improved operational efficiency&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The retirement of legacy Push Print queues associated with HP and Kyocera Managed Print Devices - helping to ensure GDPR compliance&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The removal of lower volume or unused legacy devices - improved operational efficiency and reduced energy consumption&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The retirement of legacy analogue technologies such as fax will also take place - reduced line rental and device costs&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Enhanced remote management and device status/health monitoring - improved support and fault resolution&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Customers will typically find that the process to remove and replace their MFD will take around 15 minutes from arrival to the new device being ready for use.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The existing Pull Print queues, drivers and embedded applications will remain operational and only minor differences to the user interface on the new devices will be seen.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The project is expected to start from the 18th December 2023 and run for an initial 3 month period.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Communication to local departments will be handled on a case by case basis as and when it is deemed absolutely necessary.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We expect disruption to our customers to be kept to an absolute minimum.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This update will provide enhanced document and device compatibility, increased stability, extended support for device fonts, and a broad spectrum of bug fixes. This update affects both Managed and Unmanaged Windows devices.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;There may be a slight delay before the push or pull print queue is operational. Mac, Linux/Unix, CUPS, Mobile Print and HP print queue customers are not affected by this change.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Migration of 91 Managed Printers (MFDs) within University House, Beehive, Library and Engineering to the new network (NRSP) from: 07/03/2023</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;There are a number of print devices (predominantly Kyocera Multifunction Devices or MFD's) that require migrating from the current network infrastructure to the new (&lt;a href="https://warwick.ac.uk/insite/news/intnews2/nrsp/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;NRSP&lt;/a&gt;) network printer range.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The benefits of this migration will be a more secure connection on the new network infrastructure, with print devices separated from other 'unknown' devices.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Managed printers will experience a small outage in their wired network connectivity as the port is patched over.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Services such as &lt;a href="https://warwick.ac.uk/services/its/servicessupport/printing/scantofolder" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;Autostore/Scan to Folder&lt;/a&gt; may take a little longer to return as we reconfigure our servers for the new addresses.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Monday 1st November - Printing issues on Windows 10 devices @10AM</title>

&lt;p&gt;Impacted customers are advised to use the Mobile Print Service as a workaround.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Funding and charging model for the Managed Print Service (MPS) - 1st August 2020 onwards</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;As of the &lt;strong&gt;1st August 2020 onwards&lt;/strong&gt; the &lt;a href="https://warwick.ac.uk/services/its/servicessupport/printing/manageddeptprinting/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;Managed Print Service&lt;/a&gt; &lt;strong&gt;ceased the processing of internal recharges&lt;/strong&gt; in respect of the rentals and usage of the multi-function photocopiers / printers managed by &lt;a href="https://warwick.ac.uk/services/warwickprint" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;Warwick Print&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="https://warwick.ac.uk/services/its/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;ITS/IDG&lt;/a&gt; (the MPS).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;These are the devices located within departments across the campus. This decision reflects the &lt;a href="https://warwick.ac.uk/services/sg/spd/scd/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;Simplify Collaborate Deliver&lt;/a&gt; measures to minimise the volume of internal recharges in order to improve financial reporting timescales and reduce administrative burden.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The &lt;a href="https://warwick.ac.uk/services/it-students/how-to/printing-scanning/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;Student Print service&lt;/a&gt; remains &lt;strong&gt;chargeable at point of use&lt;/strong&gt;. A positive printer credits balance is needed to print or copy within the &lt;a href="https://warwick.ac.uk/services/it-students/how-to/printing-scanning/locations" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;Student Print locations&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The other services provided by &lt;a href="https://warwick.ac.uk/services/warwickprint" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;Warwick Print&lt;/a&gt; &lt;strong&gt;continue to be chargeable&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
