      <title>Tom Hemingway and James MacDowell's video essay selected in Sight &amp; Sound best-of list</title>

      <description>&lt;div dir="ltr" data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody" style="border: 0px; font: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; color: inherit;"&gt;A video essay by the department&#8217;s Tom Hemingway and James MacDowell was chosen by two contributors to Sight &amp;amp; Sound's best-of 2024 poll. Their video is about Bo Burnham's Netflix comedy special INSIDE, authenticity and YouTube aesthetics. The list also includes James' picks for best video essays of the year.       <title>Student Cinema Society at The University of Warwick Shortlisted for 2024 Film Society of the Year Awards</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;The Student Cinema society, one of the oldest societies at the University of Warwick has been shortlisted for two awards by Cinema For All, a leading organization dedicated to promoting community cinema. Warwick Student Cinema has been nominated for Best Student Cinema at the Film Society of the Year Awards. The committee is currently made up of several Film students (Daniel Kallin as President, Freya Clinton as Vice President, Marnie McCrudden as Films Officer, and Tomas Caldon as Events &amp;amp; Socials Coordinator) and many more students from the department are on the crew and come to the screenings. &lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>Lyra (2022) - Screening at Coventry Cathedral</title>

The film was accompanied by a panel chaired by Professor Helen Wheatley (Director of Film and Television Studies) with Lyra's sister Nichola McKee-Corner and brother in law John Corner, the film's producer, Jackie Doyle, the Rev Dr Alex Wimberley (leader of the Corrymeela Community) and Professor Michele Aaron. Fran attended the screening as a recent recipient of the Centre for Investigative Journalism's Lyra McKee Bursary Scheme, and writes about the experience of watching the film and meeting Lyra's family&lt;/p&gt;</description>
