  for Sustainability Research Biographies: Ralf von den Hoff has been dir
 ecting the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS) since 2022. A
 s a professor of Classical Archaeology at the University of Freiburg his
  research focuses on visual culture studies of ancient Greece and the Ro
 man empire. He was a senior fellow at FRIAS in 2012/13 and at the Morpho
 mata Center for Advanced Studies in the Humanities at Cologne University
  in 2018/19 and 2020. Between 2012 and 2024 he directed the interdiscipl
 inary research centre (SFB) Heroes – Heroizations – Heroims from Antiqui
 ty to Today at the University of Freiburg\, which more deeply rooted his
  interest in potentials of interdisciplinary research and in dialogues b
 eyond disciplinary borders. Philipp Höfele is a postdoctoral research fe
 llow within the framework of the “Young Academy for Sustainability Resea
 rch” (YAS) at FRIAS since 2024. Previously\, he was a postdoctoral resea
 rcher within the livMatS Cluster of Excellence in Freiburg (2019–2021) a
 nd a DAAD PRIME Fellow at Freie Universität Berlin and Pennsylvania Stat
 e University (2021–2023). His main areas of research are practical philo
 sophy and ethics\, with a historical focus on the 19th and 20th centurie
 s and a systematic focus on environmental philosophy\, technology ethics
 \, and the Anthropocene discourse.

DESCRIPTION:The short seminar will discuss how AIAS actively creates fram
 eworks and formats that support peer-to-peer networks and cohort-buildin
 g through structured activities such as research feedback sessions\, int
 erdisciplinary exchanges\, and collaborative initiatives like writing an
 d discussion groups. Particular attention will be given to how these cro
 ss-disciplinary and cross-faculty formats strengthen engagement among EC

  Fellow Biographies: Malene Friis Hansen is an interdisciplinary scholar
  and practitioner studying human–other-primate interfaces in Indonesia a
 nd Malaysia through methods from Ethology\, Ecology\, and Ethnography. S
 ince September 2025\, she has been a Post doc and an AIAS-AUFF Fellow at
  the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies\, Aarhus University. She holds
  a PhD in Biology from the University of Copenhagen\, and her postdoctor
 al work has been in Anthropology at Princeton University. Andreas Roepst
 orff is Director of the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies and a Profe
 ssor at the Department of Anthropology at Aarhus University. His researc
 h spans anthropology\, cognitive science\, and neuroscience\, with a par
 ticular focus on human cognition\, culture\, and social interaction. His
  work combines interdisciplinary approaches across the humanities\, soci
 al sciences\, and natural sciences. As Director of AIAS\, he works to st
 rengthen international and interdisciplinary research collaboration and 
 develop research talent. His work is widely recognized for bridging scie
 ntific disciplines and fostering innovative research environments.

 G). She coordinates the research group REDD (Network for Studies on Demo
 cracy and Disinformation) and works on philosophy and digital culture. S
