Doctoral Alumni Network
Applied Linguistics Doctoral Alumni Network - Get back in touch with us...
If you gained your doctoral degree in the Centre for Applied Linguistics (CAL) or Centre for English Language Teacher Education (CELTE), we would love you to join our new doctoral alumni network. Read more on this below.
The Warwick Applied Linguistics team lead by Dr Sue Wharton has won funding within the Warwick Social Science Impact Account to establish the Applied Linguistics Doctoral Alumni Network.
The project will run from April 2015 until March 2018 with the aim of encouraging better communication among our staff, doctoral alumni and doctoral students about the research that we are all doing. Developing an online community on LinkedIn and organising face-to-face meetings will provide space to discuss, support and track the impact of doctoral research conducted here in Warwick Applied Linguistics, as well as to continue to share ideas and help each other as individual research projects and impact activities get taken forward.
Get in Touch
We invite all the doctoral alumni to join our LinkedIn group and get in touch with fellow alumni, and current staff and doctoral students here in Applied Linguistics at Warwick. We would love to hear about your recent research, professional practice, projects and future plans.
Feel free to email us any suggestions or ideas for the network, comments or questions, at caldoctoralalumni at warwick dot ac dot uk.
Alumni Day (June 24, 2015)
The CAL Doctoral Alumni Network was officially presented at the Alumni Day organised on 24th June 2015, within the 18th Warwick International Postgraduate Conference in Applied Linguistics (23-25 June 2015). The event featured three panels, bringing together Warwick Applied Linguistics (CAL/CELTE) doctoral alumni who talked about their research, practice and career pathways after having completed their PhD.
For those who weren’t able to attend the Alumni Day in person, we have recorded the panel discussions and plenary sessions, available here:
