Dr Annette Knight teaches across the Centre’s counselling and psychotherapy courses. Her background is within higher education. During her career she has taught at several institutions and taught different subject areas. She has also worked in student support roles. Her interest, is in facilitating development, learning and progression; with a particular focus on non-traditional learners.
Annette is a BACP accredited counsellor. Her counselling approach is centred on humanistic ideals with an interest in different ways of understanding, conceptualising and relieving human distress - for instance, Existential and Buddhist ideas inform her thinking. She also has knowledge and interest in CBT, and a background in Psychology. Her client work is, and has been, centred around providing counselling to University staff and students.
Annette completed her PhD at Loughborough University, School of Business. She has a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a second Masters in Education.
