Luke Tibbits joined the Centre for Lifelong Learning in February 2015, as a Teaching Fellow within the MA Social Work programme. He has been involved in a range of social care employment since 2000 within the NHS, local authorities and the voluntary sector, including roles in homelessness, substance misuse, mental health and adolescent behaviour fields. He qualified with an MA in Social Work in 2005. Luke has taught on social work qualifying programmes at De Montfort and Birmingham City universities.
Luke’s undergraduate degree is in Social Policy, and he holds postgraduate qualifications in Specialist Mental Health Social Work, and Drug and Alcohol Treatment. His particular areas of interest are therapeutic and interpersonal skills for social workers, the legacy of radical social work and the interface between substance misuse and social work.
