Sue began her career in early years in the voluntary sector. After study as a 2+2 student, at Warwick, she joined the ACE Centre at Chipping Norton as the Outreach Worker, a newly designated Early Excellence Centre. After a period as Deputy Director there, she then joined Coventry City Council to develop a Sure Start Local Programme.
More recently, Sue has followed her professional interest in Leadership as a programme writer, researcher, facilitator, mentor and assessor on the National Professional Qualification for Integrated Centre Leadership (NPQICL). Sue led the National Children's Centre Leader's Network and worked as a consultant for the National College for Teaching and Leadership, contributing to work on the National Professional Qualification for Headship (HPQH), Outreach and Children's Centre publications.
Sue has worked in the Centre for Education Studies since 2005 where she contributed to teaching in Leadership and Management, Equality and Diversity, Research Methods & Masculinities and Fatherhood. Sue also teaches on the Early Years and Childcare degree programme in Singapore. Sue joined the Centre for Lifelong Learning in 2014.
