My name is Shiyi and my English name is Alexander. I was born in the beautiful city of Wuxi in Jiangsu province, China.
I graduated from Shanghai Tiedao University in 1995, where I majored in medicine. Since then I worked at Shanghai Pudong New Area People’s Hospital, and became an attending doctor of surgery. Whilst there, I studied the power of the digestive tract and cancer. At same time, disease prevention became a priority for me.
In October 2002, I left the hospital and became a government official. Now, I work for the Jinqiao Town Government in Pudong New Area. My main objective is the development of culture and education in the community. Between 2005 and 2008, I studied on the postgraduate course of Management Philosophy in the Shanghai Administration Institute.
I like to swim, ride on horseback, and play badminton and football in my spare time.
I am very glad to have the opportunity to study at the University of Warwick. I hope that the theories and skills I learn here will be helpful to my work.
