E-learning is increasingly relevant to the design of C-RL programmes. It can be used as the sole medium of delivery and/or in a blended form to enhance face-to-face elements. Gilly Salmon has argued that the facilitation of on-line learning entails a 5 stage process or ladder:

  1. Access and motivation
  2. On-line socialisation
  3. Information exchange
  4. Knowledge construction
  5. Development

Please now read from Salmon (2013) Chapter 2 entitled E-tivities in the 5 stage model. Note the five stages described above (p.16). You may find it helpful to browse the other chapters for further ideas and advice. Once you have done this, consider the place of e-learning in your programme of career-related learning and how you will facilitate this.
