Getting started

Welcome to the post-residential support for Warwick registrants on the Training and Coaching module.

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • discuss a range of learning and training theories (e.g. experiential learning, critical pedagogy, concept mapping, person-centred learning).
  • discuss a range of coaching and mentoring theories (e.g. solution-focused, narrative-based, existential).
  • integrate theory and practice in the design of training and coaching.
  • understand and access a wider range of relevant reading in training, coaching and mentoring.

Saying hello in the forum
The forum is used to facilitate communication between us and formative assessment. It is our space and only module registrants and staff can see our posts. As a first step, you are asked to introduce yourself in the module forum. As a blended learning module, it is helpful if other people can see who is studying the module. Please do this now by clicking on this forum link and locating the thread entitled 'Saying hello in the forum'.

Module reading pack
There is a module reading pack provided with this module containing the core readings. All these core readings are also shown in bold in the further reading list. You should receive the pack in the post shortly and can contact if any problems.

Contacting the module tutor
You are entitled to have at least one tutorial with the module leader as part of this module. Further tutorials can also be discussed as the need arises.

Module home page
The module home page can be used as a base for navigating around the module. The sections within it contain the online module materials. They are designed to be used in the order shown.

I hope that you find the module relevant, stimulating, and above all enjoyable!

Best wishes
