We are devoted to postgraduate teaching and scholarship in the transdisciplinary field of career studies. Our origins can be traced directly to the introduction of vocational guidance courses to the UK in 1964. Today, our work reflects new directions in these areas such as the growing interest in identity, meaning and metaphor. Our portfolio of activities are focused on teaching, research, consultancy and outreach in career coaching, career-related learning and career development.
We offer programmes of study relating to careers work in the university sector and career coaching. We specialise in the integration of theory and practice and offer a range of postgraduate qualifications geared to continuing professional development, initial professional development and/or personal development. We draw on a wide range of expertise across our professional networks to deliver our unique and well-regarded programmes.
We recognise that investing in professional development is a significant decision. For students, our courses offer an effective and unique approach to the integration of theory and practice. The course design is flexible and enables you to juggle study with other commitments such as work, leisure, family and citizenship. For organisations, we find that our courses help to motivate staff and improve business performance. Studying with us enables people to take a fresh look at problems and develop new solutions.
We are based within the Centre for Lifelong Learning at The University of Warwick. The Centre for Lifelong Learning is responsible for a broad range of activities which form a key component of the University's professional development and widening participation activities. The University of Warwick is globally connected, forward-looking and entrepreneurial. We create new ways of thinking and achieving: making us stand out from our competitors and offering an inspiring place to study.
