This module focuses predominantly on the practice of career coaching and counselling in one to one interventions. We will look at approaches to such interventions that have arisen from theories of career and personal development and chart the origins of terms such as 'career guidance' and 'career coaching'. Through the module, participants will work on developing their own professional skills in suporting career development learning through one to one dialogue. We will consider ethical and organisational issues and how our own practice can be managed and developed.
Prior to the teaching days at the University of Warwick on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 March 2013, participants are invited to work through these online materials and core readings. At key points you will be invited to comment on the forum and begin discussions with fellow students.
