A possible solution is contained in the spreadsheet.
- It is unlikely that the marketing and IT budgets will be spread evenly through the year. IT is small so makes little difference but marketing could be budgeted to be spent when there is more income, although there is no point in leaving it until the project is so near the end that it is too late for students and employers to participate.
- ‘Other’ could include some discretionary expenditure such as travel, training etc. It may be possible to delay some of this until there is more income. On the other hand the longer training is delayed the less benefit to the project.
- Try to negotiate for UBS to front-load grant to compensate for LDC paying later
- Agree that shared services will be paid for in the second half of the year as this is when income is higher
