Course details

The course is open to applicants who wish to gain training and qualification as a supervisor of counselling and psychotherapy practitioners.

The aim of this programme is to enable practising therapists to develop sufficient knowledge, skills, confidence and expertise to be able to practise as supervisors of person-centred counsellors and psychotherapists. The course will be valuable and relevant for those currently working as supervisors who have had no specific training or qualification in supervision.

The course will provide a balance of theory and application of theory to practice, with a strong focus on dealing with ethical dilemmas.

The Advanced Diploma will comprise two one-day workshops on Saturdays and six Wednesday afternoons (12.45 - 6.30pm for each of the three terms) - a total of 110 hours of taught contact time.

Module 1: Theory and practice for person-centred supervision of counsellors and psychotherapists.

Module 2: Personal and professional development for the supervision of counsellors and psychotherapists.
