Skills Aims 2011-12

WMCETT changed its approach to formulating the aims for each of the Priority Areas from Year 3 onwards. Objectives are now identified within themes across all areas.
 

Aims for Year 5

 
Information, Advice and Guidance
 
We will continue to give specialised IAG around literacy, language and numeracy teaching (LLN) which will include advice to people wanting to enter this area of work. We will also give advice to LLN teachers on the General Professional Recognition process and how to gain QTLS.
Projects
 
We will organise and hold a CPD event for the Institute for Leaning with approximately 50 people attending
 
Networks

We will continue to support a network of literacy, language and numeracy teacher trainers by holding an annual meeting and keeping an e-mail group going to share information, and organising a network meeting.

Workshops

We will plan and deliver non-accredited practitioner conferences.

 

Aims for Year 4

 
The following are the activities planned relating to Skills in 2010/11:

Information, Advice and Guidance

We will continue to give specialised IAG around literacy, language and numeracy teaching (LLN) which will include advice to people wanting to enter this area of work. We will also give advice to LLN teachers on the General Professional Recognition process and how to gain QTLS.

Courses

We will re-establish the e-learning module (level 4) and deliver one course.

Projects

Extend and develop the e-mentoring project to provide LLN subject specialist support for trainees in the workplace.

Workshops

We will plan and deliver two practitioner conferences providing six two-hour workshops which will give the attendees non-accredited CPD opportunities.
