Let’s explode a few myths about teaching methods TES, 10 April 2016

In this article, Dan Williams, described as an FE practitioner from the Midlands, explores some myths about teaching methods and learning styles, and looks at why they should be discredited along with some others from the past few years. He said being research-informed is an integral part of a teacher’s responsibilities in the FE and skills sector. The second of the Education and Training Foundation’s (ETF) Professional Standards for Teachers and Trainers makes clear the need to “maintain and update your knowledge of educational research to develop evidence-based practice”.
