This course involves guided mindfulness sessions and group discussions. It is designed for those who have previously attended a mindfulness course and/or have experience of practicing mindfulness.

The topics you will cover on our Cultivating Mindfulness will help you to develop your understanding of the subject and how to practice mindfulness in everyday life and be aware of your surroundings. You will cover the following topics during your study:
- Mindful breathing
- Body Scans
- Recognising stress and anxiety
- In the moment mindfulness
- Mindful Movement
- Mindful Eating
Dean is a teaching fellow in the Centre for Lifelong Learning who teaches a variety of mindfulness, psychology and coaching courses and modules. He has been a tutor at the centre for 10 years, teaching on the open studies and certificate programmes.
With a background in Psychology, Dean has taught at a variety of high school, post-16 and adult education institutions, in a variety of roles, including being a consultant in a large academy group. From the basis of his own mindfulness practice, he has long been active in teaching and coaching for health, wellbeing and performance.
