South Warwickshire IAPT
I've received information about placements that will be available at South Warwickshire IAPT commencing in January 2019.
South Warwickshire IAPT provides a counselling service to NHS patients presenting with anxiety and depression, resulting in a wide and vaired client group. They are based in Stratford-upon-Avon.
This is a placement for students who already have some counselling experience - they are looking for students who have already completed 50 client hours.

Coventry and Warwickshire IAPT Placements
I've received this from Tracey Hurley who attended the placement evening for the Coventry IAPT service:
"We are looking for applications from students who are ready to commence seeing clients so would be grateful if you could pass on our details. I have attached 2 information forms and would be happy to discuss anything further with you or any Student that is interested in applying.
It can take some time to get Students on board with us so we are keen to start the process and may look at hold interviews over the Summer break or early September. "

Lynne Walsh from the John Taylor Hospice in Erdington has contacted me to let me know that there is currently a placement opportunity there. She says:
"Following the successful placement of a previous student from Warwick, we are in a position to consider another student.
Students on placement at the hospice are well supported within our team and receive monthly line supervision as well as their external supervision. They are able to attend any in-house training and are really valued within the team. I hope that the right person will be interested."

Placement Event Wednesday 13th June
We're holding our annual placement event on Wednesday 13th June from 5-7pm, in CLL.
I'd love it if as many of you as possible could come. It's a great opportunity to meet local counsellors and counselling agencies and to see what is out there even if you are not specifically looking for a placement yourself.
It's also a chance for you to meet the first years and hopefully the incoming students for this October. I know that they would appreciate your insights into the placement process and the course in general.
I would also appreciate it if you were able to ask your placement if they are coming and perhaps even offer your support on the night?
Hope to see you there
