Giving you credit for learning and qualifications you have already completed.
SVUK's Database of Legacy Qualifications was set up some years ago, in 2007. This means that qualifications on that database are no longer valid for APL purposes because they are not recent enough to be taken into consideration. This includes the following: City and Guilds 7307 and 7407 and The University of Warwick Stage one and two PCET qualifications. In addition, new teacher training qualifications have been de-nested and as such the PTLLS qualification, the CTLLS qualification and the Award in Education and Training cannot be considered for APL.
However, it may be possible to use the new Certificate in Education and Training (CET) for APL purposes, as long as these have been completed within the last three years. Applicants wanting to APL a CET qualification from other awarding institutions may be taken in to account but would need to be considered with the University, on a case by case basis.
A candidate will be interviewed to establish their suitability for APL and a number of activities will need to be completed prior to joining the DET - see link on the right to CET APL.
