Carmina Micelli is a biotechnologist who is interested in molecular modelling and structural biology to understand protein-protein interactions and drug-binding modes. She is currently working in the Roper Group in the field of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), to investigate the structure and chemical behaviour of essential bacterial proteins called Penicillin Binding Proteins. By using a combination of structural biology and biophysical techniques, she aims to provide important structural and kinetic data that may aid the discovery of new antibiotics.
