Creating a blank bibliography subpage

The first step is to decide where you want your bibliography to be located. On this page, it is assumed that you will create the bibliography on a new page. There is already a page, below your 'My Research' page, called 'Bibliography'. If you want to use that page, go straight to Creating a simple bibliography

You will create the new page using the edit menu. This menu is accessed via the link in the top right hand corner of your screen.

The system will create the bibliography page as a sub-section of the page you were on when you opened the edit menu. Therefore, if you wanted the Bibliography to be a sub-section of your Research page, you would navigate to the Research page before opening the edit menu.

Move your mouse to the top right menu bar, and click on 'Edit'

The Main Edit page will be loaded, from which you can make all changes and additions to your portfolio.

On this page, click on the Create and View Sub-pages tab.

You should now see the page shown below-

Click on 'Blank page.' from the 'Create New' menu

A form will open to allow you to create your bibliography page. You need to complete the following fields-

  • Url - You should type 'Bibliography'
  • Page Heading - You should type 'Bibliography'; this is displayed as the big heading within the Bibliography webpage
  • Title Bar Caption - Again, type 'Bibliography'; this appears in the title bar of the webpage
  • Link Caption - Type 'Bibliography'; this appears in the left hand navigation bar of the webpage

When you have completed all these fields, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on the 'Create Page' button to complete this step, or 'Cancel' if you don't want to proceed.

You will be returned to the Edit menus. Click 'Done' in the top right of the window until you are returned to your e-portfolio.

In the left hand navigation bar of your e-portfolilo, you should see a link to your new bibliography page. Click on this to be taken to the page.
