Accommodation

This year, IFP students have the same choice of accommodation as undergraduate students, meaning that you can choose from a selection of the on-campus Halls of Residence.

Applications will open in June 2018 and the deadline to apply for accommodation is 31 July 2018 - you may still be able to apply after this date, but you will be treated as a 'Late Applicant', which may impact which accommodation you are allocated.

In order to apply for accommodation, you need to have received and accepted a Conditional Offer for the Warwick IFP for 2018/19.

Allocations for accommodation will then be made in early September - to be allocated accommodation, you will need to be holding an Unconditional Offer for the Warwick IFP.

All of the information that you need about the options and the application form for accommodation can be found on the Warwick Accommodation webpages (follow the options for Undergraduate Halls of Residence).

Top tips for IFP students

You have lots of choices when it comes to accommodation, but here are some things that you should be aware of to help you to make the decision:

Let lengths

On the accommodation webpages you will see information about 'Let lengths' - this is how many weeks you are renting your accommodation. Some accommodation options require you to leave your room (and ensure all of your belongings are removed) over the Easter vacation. If you do not want to remove your items over the Easter vacation, ensure you select options which have a '40 week let' - this means you will only move out at the very end of the IFP.

In the event that you are allocated a 35 week let, there is some vacation accommodation that can be booked through the Accommodation team.

Under 18s

If you will be under 18 on 22 September (when accommodation contracts start), you will only be able to choose en suite accommodation (no shared bathrooms). For more information, please see the Accommodation Allocation Policy.

Location

Another important thing to consider is the location of your accommodation, in terms of what facilities you would like to be close to and where your lessons will take place. IFP students are taught in many areas across campus, including Central Campus, but also the Westwood campus (top of map below, near Accommodation 12). A shuttlebus does operate around campus, although there are a limited number of passengers - find out more about the route and frequency of the shuttlebus.

Application Form

Finally, when you are completing the application form, ensure that you select "IFP" as your application type. You will also be asked to tell the University some more about yourself on this form - this is really important, as this information can be used to decide which other students may be in your flat. The Residential Life Team will aim to put similar students together, so make sure that you select options that reflect your real interests.
