My Bio

I am a qualified EFL teacher, and after completing my MA in 2007 I spent a year in Spain teaching English. I have been teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP), study skills and research skills since 2008. For three consecutive summers (2008-2010) I worked as a pre-sessional EAP tutor at University of Portsmouth. Between 2009 and 2013 I taught Foundation Year EAP at Lancaster University International Study Centre. I also taught EAP to research students from the Faculty of Science and Technology at Lancaster (2009-2011). Before joining University of Warwick in Sept 2017, I ran the research skills module in MA Fashion Marketing at University of Southampton (2013-2017).
I have a PhD in Linguistics and I specialise in language and style (stylistics). I have taught undergraduate modules in Linguistics at Lancaster and Middlesex University. These included introduction to linguistics as well as the language of advertising, and language and style. When I’m not teaching, I research language of television and film.
I really enjoy studying foreign languages, and apart from English and Polish (my mother tongue), I also know French, German, Spanish and Catalan. I also love exploring new places and cultures, so in my free time I travel a lot.
