How did you find out about Warwick?

Honestly I had not heard about Warwick until I researched the University League Tables for my course. At the time it was among the top 5 for Management. Upon doing further research, I realized it was the one of the best for Business Studies in the UK.

Did you consider applying anywhere else? What made you choose Warwick?

I considered Kings College London and LSE mainly because they are located nearby my relatives in London. I was lucky to come to Warwick with one of friends from my secondary school in Trinidad and my other friend chose to study at Manchester. My only sibling (older sister), studied in Trinidad.

A university here, in comparison to one in my home country, will allow me to get more exemptions from ACCA when I choose to further my studies after my first degree. Warwick is one of the best universities in the UK for business studies and I was very impressed with the structure of the Management degree which allows me to specialize in my second year.

How did you find the application process?

I applied to Warwick through UCAS with the help of my dedicated parents, sister and secondary school teachers. I'm very happy with the support the university provides for students as I was able to complete a form for visa delays which helped the process.

How are your studies being funded?

I am very grateful to have received a National Scholarship from the Government of Trinidad and Tobago because without this financial aid, I would not be able to study here.

What is the best thing about studying at Warwick?

Learning something new about different countries is fascinating and I get to share more about my twin-island country which many people don't know about.

How is your accommodation?

Whitefields was my first choice because of how central it is to everything I need on-campus. It is the closest accommodation to the Rootes Grocery Store and the SU. The rooms are quite spacious.

Have you joined any clubs or societies?

I am a member of Caribbean Culture Society (CCS) and Warwick Volunteers. I was given the opportunity to serve as the Fresher Rep for 18/19 for CCS.

Have you managed to travel at all during your studies?

I have only been to London thus far but I intend to travel to Europe really soon with my friends. I want to go to France, Italy and Spain before I leave England.

What do you hope to do when you graduate?

When I graduate I intend to return to Trinidad and Tobago and study ACCA to become a qualified accountant.

What makes you happiest about being a student at Warwick?

I really like the feedback system used. Students are able to give feedback which is used to improve the current situation or teaching. This makes students feel like their voice is being heard as their suggestions are reviewed and are sometimes implemented.

What advice would you give to anyone considering studying at Warwick?

If you don't believe you will fit in, Warwick will prove you wrong as there is something for everyone to be involved in from a myriad of societies and sports clubs to one-off volunteering activities.
