Ethiopia - Abrham Chombe Seyoum
Course:
Warwick International Foundation Programme (IFP)
How did you find out about Warwick?
I heard about Warwick through my father, we were looking through a list of top universities in the UK.
Did you consider applying anywhere else? What made you choose Warwick?
Other than Warwick University I considered some other top universities, the list included UCL, University of Surrey, Leicester University & Loughborough University. I went online and did some research and Warwick University was one of the few top universities that have a good foundation programme. Warwick has a great lifestyle and so far the course is great.
How was your arrival?
I arrived a few minutes late to my orientation but I understood everything.
What are your thoughts about your accommodation?
My accomodation is on campus and it is close to everything I need. The rooms are exceptional.
What is the best thing about studying at Warwick?
The lifestyle is the best part about Warwick University, it has a campus which is separated from the campus but has a lot of stores within walking distance and I find that great. There is a direct link between the cities and the campus so going out to the city is much easier.
Have you joined any clubs or societies?
I have not decided to join any societies because I am a foundation student and I may or may not be here next year.
Have you managed to travel at all during your studies?
I have travelled within the UK. London is a place I have been to 3 times. I have been to Edinburgh and Cambridge.
What do you plan to do when you graduate?
After graduating I want to persue my goal and work as a Mechanical Engineer, possibly work for big automotive company one day.
What advice would you give to some considering studying at Warwick?
"Warwick University is a great place to study and a very friendly society. If you wish to be successful you must work smart, not hard, and here they will show you how to do that."
