I found Warwick through findaphd.com, when I applied for my PhD.
What made you choose Warwick?
WMG has strong link with industry and get to meet with famous professors in the field. Also WMG provides cutting edge research facilities.
Did you contact the department prior to application?
I came to meet with my potential supervisor and had a look around the lab facilities in Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Centre (AMMC).
Have you received any funding?
TATA Steel Europe.
How was your arrival? What were your first impressions of campus?
The induction programme given by WMG is very well organised and very useful for registration process.
My first impression is the campus life and the lab facilities in WMG. WMG has state of the art lab facilities such as electron microscopy labs where SEM, TEM XRF are found. Also the campus is big and very alive.
What is the best thing about studying at Warwick?
Strong links with big industries like TATA steel, Jaguar Land Rover. Training in both personal development and subject specific courses are also provided. I am always given chances to attend the courses given by famous professor in the field.
How is your accommodation?
Off campus accommodation. Not very far from campus and good area.
Have you managed to travel at all during your studies so far?
I have travelled around in UK and Europe. The scenery in UK is very peaceful.
What do you hope to do when you graduate?
I hope to enter the industry related to my project.
What makes you happiest about being a student at Warwick?
Getting to meet with famous professor in the field. Also WMG provides well-being activity such as free mindfulness classes and sports for the staffs and students.
What advice would you give to someone considering studying at Warwick?
Try to get the most from the university.
