How did you find out about Warwick?

I was looking for my chosen course online, Warwick was one of the institutions that offered it.

Did you consider applying anywhere else? What made you choose Warwick?

Well, in Syria it's not that common to study in the UK, though it's a dream for the majority. The majority of my friends preferred to continue their study in Germany, however, the UK has been always my dream to continue my study in. Warwick University has a respectable reputation and it has been ranked among the best 10 universities in the UK. Warwick is not only a university, it's like a home within nature, where you can feel safe and happy.

Did you contact the university prior to application?

I contacted Dr. Sada Daoud, the representative for Warwick in Syria.

How did you find the application process?

I applied online according to the steps explained on the official website, which are very clear. Also, Dr. Sada Daoud helped me through the steps from getting the offer to my inquiries regarding the Visa application.

What is the best thing about being a student at Warwick?

The best thing is the feeling that you are not lonely, many options have been set to help you whether through your academic study or for your wellbeing. Also, the location of Warwick within this fascinating nature is another advantage. Another thing I am happy with is the experience of getting to communicate with international communities, which allows you to know more about other cultures and gather more memories.

How is your accommodation?

Luckily, I have been allocated a room on campus at Claycroft accommodation. In my case, it is the optimal option for me near to everything including my department, Cannon Park shopping centre, the library, and the gym.

Have you managed to travel at all during your studies?

Yes sure, I visited several cities in the UK, such as London, Birmingham, Leamington Spa, Manchester, and Oxford. Oxford is my favorite so far and I'm looking forward to visiting more sites and cities.

What makes you happiest about studying at Warwick?

That I got to know people from all around the world and we've become friends. And the whole experience of studying in Warwick is just something makes me happy and grateful every day.

What do you hope to do when you graduate?

Well, it's quite difficult to decide at this point, but I'm looking forward to applying and implementing every single bit of information I obtained through this year in my field in the future.

What advice would you give to someone considering applying to Warwick?

I would say that there is nothing impossible nor difficult to achieve, and if you have a dream just follow it with all your heart and don't forget to take your mind with you. Studying abroad, in my opinion, is the greatest lesson you could ever have.
