This page has been created to give guidance if you require a status letter to use for immigration purposes, except travelling overseas or applying for indefinite leave to remain, you should complete the form which can be found below the guidance listed below.
Please ensure you have carefully read the guidance provided for your situation BEFORE you contact Student Immigration.
We aim to process all requests within 5 working days.
If we are unable to do so, because of the need for further information, we will email you to inform you about what we need to find out, using the email address on your form.

You can download a status letter from your Student Records Online account to confirm you have completed 12 months of studies.

If you are applying for a Student Visa visa or extending it, you no longer require a status letter because the CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) has replaced the status letter.
If you have successfully completed your course, and hold a valid student visa, you can use your student visa to re-enter the UK to attend the Graduation Ceremony.

Status letters for Schengen visas and general purposes (for example, as evidence of address), should be requested from the student reception desk on the ground floor of Senate House - these can be prepared while you wait.
There is no need to contact the Immigration Service about one of these.

If you are on a part-time MBA course, and require a letter in support of your application for a General Visitor Visa to attend the Graduation Ceremony, please contact your Programme Team and they will be able to produce the letter for you.
