Status letter request for immigration purposes

If you require a status letter to use for immigration purposes, except travelling overseas or applying for indefinite leave to remain, you should complete the form below.


PLEASE NOTE:

If you are applying for a Tier 4 visa or Tier 4 visa extension, you no longer require a status letter because the CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) has replaced the status letter.

If you have successfully completed your course, and hold a valid Tier 4 visa, you may now use your Tier 4 visa to re-enter the UK to attend the Graduation Ceremony.

Status letters for Schengen visas and general purposes, for example, as evidence of address, should be requested from the student reception desk on the ground floor of Senate House.

These can be prepared while you wait.

There is no need to contact the International Student Office about one of these.

DISTANCE LEARNING MBA & EXECUTIVE MBA


If you are on a part-time MBA course, and require a letter in support of your application for a General Visitor Visa to attend Graduation Ceremony, please contact your Programme Team and they will be able to produce the letter for you.
For Distance Learning MBA students:

Once you have received this letter you should follow the guidance provided in the Graduation Portal.

Letters should be ready for collection from 2.30pm five working days following the request from the International Student Office.

You will be contacted by email as soon as your letter is ready to collect.

If you have requested us to post the letter to you, you should also allow time for the document to be delivered.

As no charge is made for this service, we will always use second class post to local addresses in the UK.

Standard airmail will be used for the rest of the world.

Please do not ask us to post a letter by courier or expect a tracking number.


We aim to process all requests within 5 working days. If we are unable to do so, because of the need for further information, we will email you to inform you about what we need to find out, using the email address on your form.
