This visa scheme is now closed to new applicants. It has been replaced by a new scheme called 'Start-up' .
Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) visa route closes to new applicants on 6th July 2019 (although the graduate must have received endorsement from Warwick before 5th April 2019). Information about the Start up route can be found here.
If you currently hold a Tier 1 (GE) visa, please refer to the frequently asked questions below:
Is my current Tier 1 (GE) visa still valid?
Yes. The scheme has closed to new applicants, but your Tier 1 (GE) visa remains valid until the expiry date shown on your BRP card. You will be expected to continue to meet the requirements of the scheme and adhere to the terms set out in the agreement you signed.
I hold a Tier 1 (GE) visa endorsed by The University of Warwick. Will I still be supported and monitored on the scheme?
Yes, the support offered to you when you signed up to the scheme will continue.
I am in the first year of the Tier 1 (GE) scheme. Can I switch into the start up route?
Yes. If you meet the requirements of the start up route, you may switch into the new category. You will be granted a two year visa, minus any time already spend on Tier 1 (GE).
I am in the final year of the Tier 1 (GE) scheme and my visa is due to expire. Can I switch into the new start up route?
No. Once you have completed two years in Tier 1 (GE), you are not permitted to switch into start up. Depending upon when your visa expires, you may be eligible to switch to Tier 1 Entrepreneur, or the new Innovator route.
