Facilitating Independence
Students learn about student life and independence; to include funding and budgeting, clubs and societies, self-guided study and maximising library resources.
Access to HE
A 'how to' guide on access to HE, researching universities and courses, and providing an up-to-date overview of Personal Statements, UCAS and Student Finance England websites.
Student Funding and Finance
Through practical exercises students find out how student finance and funding works, what they may be eligible for and how to apply for funding.
Student Life
An introduction to university life exploring the differences between school and Higher Education. This session is led by current undergraduate students from the University.

On Campus Activity

Thinking about Studying - Year 12
Students spend the day exploring a variety of subject options within their potential areas of study. Faculty Days provide a deeper insight into what it would be like to study specific subjects at a university, as well as providing guidance on how to apply and how to make an informed choice.
The Faculty Taster Day takes place on 18th March 2015.
Thinking about Applying? - Year 12
'Thinking about Applying' equips students with the skills to be able to effectively research HE choices so that they can make informed decisions about their futures. Sessions covered include interactive workshops on student finance and writing personal statements as well as guidance on how to choose a course and university that is right for them
The Thinking about Applying day takes place on 24th June 2015.
Experience Warwick - Year 12 Summer School
This summer school will offer participants the opportunity to undertake a wide variety of academic sessions delivered by University lecturers and staff, as well as taking part in non-academic activities. There is a group challenge that runs throughout the summer school with presentations and prize giving on the final day; on the last night there is traditionally a themed Gala Dinner. The Summer School will give participants a varied insight into life at the University. These include staying in halls of residence, different types of learning in a wide range of settings and experiencing the social and sporting facilities the University has to offer. Participants will also be able to interact with the Student Ambassadors who are current students at the University and will act as Group Leaders during the event.
Our Summer School aims to motivate students to aspire to, and achieve, a place on a university course that matches their needs and interests; as well as encouraging them to aim for the most competitive courses at the most competitive institutions.
Transitions Family Day - Year 13
'Transitions Family Day' is designed to help students prepare for university. Topics covered will include: talks led by the Students' Union focused on getting the most out of the non-academic side of university life; budgeting skills; and a live cooking demonstration with a free recipe book designed to get students actively thinking about their eating habits.
The Transitions Day takes place on 27th June 2015.
Exam Revision Sessions One-Day - Year 13
Subject-specific exam revision sessions aimed at teaching students exam techniques, and exploring revision ideas on specific elements of the curriculum.
The Exam Revision Sessions take place on the following dates: 7th February, 7th March, 9th April and 10th April 2015.
