Economics - Diploma

Our Diploma is aimed at students without a background in economics, and will provide training in the core components of modern economic analysis and appropriate quantitative methods.

Students will acquire the ability to analyse economic problems, both empirically and theoretically, developing knowledge of economic trends, institutions and policy.

Core Modules:

  • Macroeconomics 2 (30 CATS)
  • Microeconomics 2 (30 CATS)
  • Econometrics 1 (30 CATS)


Optional Modules:
This programme has optional modules to choose from to allow you to achieve the required credits to successfully complete the award. Teaching:

Teaching is mainly carried out through lectures and seminars. We encourage one-to-one interaction with our world-leading academics and offer great flexibility in the optional modules that allow you to specialise or diversify your studies.

Assessment:

Assessment is through formal examinations and coursework.

Graduate Destinations:

On completing the course, you’ll be well placed to pursue a career in the finance sector, within accountancy, banking and insurance, or in areas such as business intelligence, and social/market research.
