Teaching Advanced Mathematics - PGCert (Part-Time, 2018 Entry)

This course is targeted at teachers of A Level Mathematics/other Level 3 Mathematics courses in state maintained schools, who will have the opportunity to develop subject knowledge and pedagogy in light of current research.

Core Modules:

  • Module 1 - Advanced Level Mathematics Pedagogy*
  • Module 2 - Advanced Level Classroom Based Enquiry*

Teaching:
The university sessions are interactive and challenging and you are expected to take an active role.

Assessment:
The two modules are assessed by written assignments. Subject knowledge is assessed by MEI via completion of two Mathematics assignments which are based on exam-style questions. These are requested by the participant, posted to their home address and must be returned a week later.
