Career Education, Information and Guidance in HE - MA (Part-Time, 2019 Entry)

This MA enables you to make a distinctive contribution to higher education careers work through independent research. It is approved by the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) and designed and taught in partnership with this professional body. It is also approved by the Career Development Institute (CDI) as meeting the qualification requirement for the UK Register of Career Development Professionals.

Teaching:

Each module is taught via a blend of contact time and distance learning with the precise blend varying according to each module. You will be taught by experienced AGCAS Trainers for at least two modules. The workshops are highly interactive and led by experienced career development professionals. The distance-learning elements are taught via a virtual learning environment and include use of multimedia materials and forums. Everyone on the MA, PG Diploma and PG Certificate starts with the core modules in Career Development Theories and the Challenges of Careers Work in Higher Education.

Contact Hours:

An average of 8 -10 hours of lectures and 3-5 hours of seminars per week.

Class Sizes:

Core modules are up to 200 students; optional modules vary (15-75) and seminars typically average around 15-20 students.

Assessment:

Programmes within the department are assessed through a variety of methods depending on the module choices each student makes.

100% of our graduates are in work or further study.
