Philosophy, Politics and Economics: Politics and Philosophy Bipartite - MA (Full-Time/Part-Time, 2019 Entry)

Our MA in PPE offers you a custom-designed masters-level grounding in the interdisciplinary subject of Philosophy, Politics and Economics, combined with your chosen pathway of specialist modules offered by our Departments of Philosophy, Politics and International Studies, and Economics.

This pathway will enable you to access the theoretical perspectives, methodologies and policy analysis needed to debate key topics in PPE and the practical applications of them in social, economic, political and legal spheres. Through politics modules you'll be able to explore social, economic and political phenomena as well as how they should be organised. You’ll also be able to choose from a range of modules in moral, political, continental philosophy, aesthetics and Philosophy of Mind.

This course is offered also offered as a PG Certificate and PG diploma (exit points only).

Teaching is mainly carried out through lectures and seminars, with the average number of lectures to seminars varying according to pathway. Economics provide lectures and seminars for most modules, whereas Politics and International Studies, Philosophy and PPE teach predominantly through seminars.

Your dissertation work will normally be individually supervised on a one-to-one basis and we have an effective personal tutor system providing individual support. We encourage one-to-one interaction with our world-leading academics and offer great flexibility in the optional modules that allow you to specialise or diversify your studies.

Class sizes for seminars are around 18 students.
Lecture are around 300 students.


Research essays and the dissertation.

As this is a new course, we do not have any PPE Masters alumni from Warwick. However, our undergraduate PPE alumni go on to work in academia, research, government, charity, NGOs, banking, finance, consultancy, civil service, law, media and journalism to name a few of the wide range of potential paths you could take after your MA.

Entry Requirements

Upper-Second Class Honours degree 2:1 or equivalent in PPE or closely related programme with significant components from each subject area.

Philosophy Requirement

You should have taken at least 25% of one year of study in intermediate Philosophy modules.

English Language Requirements

Band B

IELTS overall score of 7.0, minimum component scores of two at 6.0/6.5 and the rest at 7.0 or above.
