The pandemic has highlighted the essential role that Public Health plays in local, national and international healthcare. There is no shortage of demand for such professionals, with the WHO estimating a global deficit of more than 500,000 public health workers. This new Masters is very relevant. It has a contemporary curriculum designed in response to current global health needs. It covers all traditional areas of policy, communicable disease control, epidemiology, statistics, social determinants of health, the impact of political policy and health infrastructure.
Many countries are experiencing rapidly changing socio-economic landscapes, increasing urbanisation, and shifting disease patterns, underscoring the urgent need to develop a healthcare workforce possessing a comprehensive understanding of public health principles and the capacity to effectively implement them in professional practice. This programme aims to educate public health professionals who are capable of navigating the dynamic landscape of global health issues and to implement effective, evidence-based strategies and to promote health and well-being in diverse populations.
The University of Warwick / iheed Master of Public Health is a comprehensive programme, carefully designed to cover a wide range of topics relevant to public health practice, including epidemiology, population-health, health promotion, health protection, health services management, and research methods. The unique partnership between the University of Warwick and iheed brings together Warwick’s academic excellence and iheed’s unrivalled expertise in online healthcare education. This ensures that graduates are well-prepared to tackle various public health issues in a range of settings, from local communities to international organisations.
