MSc Management of Information Systems & Digital Innovation develops your management and consulting skills for a professional career in which you help businesses to thrive in the digital age. Warwick Business School aims to create managers with a creative mindset to integrate IT and digital innovations in business.

You will develop your management and consulting skills for a professional career in which you help businesses to thrive in the digital age. This course is about how to better manage, strategise, and use digital technology for business purposes.
You will get the opportunity to tailor your options to your own interests, giving you the opportunity to specialise in IT consultancy or programming/analytics, or gain an understanding of both disciplines. There is a choice of Research paper or Business in Practice route. If you are considering further academic study (PhD) and you would like the opportunity to research a topic relating to digital innovation, the Research paper enables you to test and apply the techniques and theories you have gained.
If you would like to develop further applied skills to suit your career aspirations, you can complete your studies with two optional modules and our applied Business in Practice module.

Gain an excellent foundation in management theory and practical use of information systems, and learn to manage digital innovation to achieve business value. Our options make it possible to specialise in IT consultancy or programming analytics, or to choose elective modules to give insight into both areas.
We use real-life case studies and practitioner input at every opportunity and across all our core and optional modules.

The typical class size for this course is around 110 students.

Students will typically receive between 27 and 30 contact hours per module via a mixture of virtual and in-person support. Some modules are taught over the course of a 10 week term, whilst others are delivered in an intensive block of up to 10 days.

Assessment is a mix of individual assignments, group work and exams.
Choice of Business in Practice route, Research Paper or Internship:
Business in Practice route
If you would like to develop further applied skills and specialist knowledge to suit your career aspirations, you can complete your studies with our applied Business in Practice module. You will develop deep functional and industry expertise with practical insights from our faculty and our CareersPlus and Corporate Relations team.
Research Paper
If you are considering further academic study (PhD), you can choose to complete a 6,000 word research paper on your learnings and knowledge of information systems management or digital innovation. Please note you must select the Research Methods module in order to qualify for this module.
Internship
Alternatively, you can organise a six-to-twelve-week work placement as part of your course, which would fall after electives finish in term 3, and before your final project is submitted in September. You'll develop your ability to conduct a critical evaluation of your experiences of the internship, including how to reflect on your challenges and development. You will also identify and appraise sustainable practice within the placement.
Your timetable
Your personalised timetable will be complete when you are registered for all modules, core and optional, and you have been allocated to your lectures, seminars and other small group classes. Your core modules will be registered for you and you’ll be able to choose your optional modules when you join us.
There may be events taking place in the evenings. Classes may run up to 7pm and other events, such as careers presentations may take place later or on weekends. Occasionally, classes and exams may be held on weekends. We will notify you in advance if this is the case.
This is a full-time course, so there are no holidays as such. However, the two weeks covering Christmas and New Year are guaranteed to be free from lectures. There may also be weeks free over the Easter period (check with your programme team). Resit exams may take place outside of standard teaching periods.

At least a 2.1 degree at Undergraduate level or equivalent. We consider applicants from all undergraduate backgrounds for this MSc.
