Funding Your Taught Course

Funding Opportunites for Taught Courses

Applying for funding is often a critical element of applying for postgraduate study. There are a number of opportunities at Warwick for you to investigate, with further details on the Graduate School webpages.

Graduate Entry Medicine

At Warwick, we only accept students who have already completed an undergraduate degree onto our medical courses. For entry in 2012, first year students from England will be eligible for a government tuition fee loan to cover part of your tuition costs, as well as a living cost loan.

In years 2-4 the Department of Health will make a contribution towards your tuition fees and you will be able to take out a tuition fee loan for the balance.

Students are eligible for a reduced rate living cost loan and may qualify for an additional NHS bursary.

Students from Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland should check their funding arrangements with their respective devolved administrations.

Check out the Student Funding webpage for further details.

PGCE and Teacher Training

The PGCE programme is considered distinct from other taught postgraduate courses.

Unlike other programmes, there is significant government funding available for students wishing to train as a teacher, including tuition fee loans for UK and EU students. In addition eligible students can access living cost grants and loans dependent on household income.

For 2012 entry government training bursaries of up to £20,000 are available for trainees in shortage subjects who have good degree results.

Check out the Student Funding webpage for further details.

Social Work

Government funded bursaries are available for all eligible students. The bursary includes payment of:

  • Tuition and other compulsory fees to the University
  • A maintenance grant, based on individual circumstances and recognising the needs of disabled students and students with dependants
  • Travel and other expenses (within limits)

For further information about bursary funding please visit the NHS website.
