Safety on Campus during Covid-19
We want to make sure our students have a safe experience in London. You can also rest assured that the Warwick Summer School, and St Mary’s University (SMU) will operate in line with UK Government and University guidelines around social distancing and safety to ensure the well-being of all our guests and staff.

We are learning more and more about Covid-19 every day and for the latest guidance and advice from SMU, visit https://www.stmarys.ac.uk/coronavirus
At this stage, we don’t know what the situation will be with regard to Covid-19 but please be assured that should we make any substantial changes to the programme that we will be in contact with you to discuss your options.
At the moment, we intend on running the events as noted on the website, however we will continue to monitor the situation closely and revise or amend the schedule of events if necessary. We will offer alternatives to any elements of the programme which might be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions, or make alternative arrangements such as dividing participants into smaller groups, or bubbles.
We will keep all participants updated on any developments via email, and via our website.
The Warwick Summer School is committed to making sure that students feel safe during the programme.
Spaces on SMU campus will being regularly checked to ensure they are safe and operating in line with UK Government guidance and activities are only permitted if they have undergone comprehensive risk assessments.
SMU have made it easy for those living, working and learning on campus to stay safe with increased outdoor seating, increased hand sanitiser points and plenty of hand washing facilities. There are also perspex screens in reception areas, as well as one-way systems in place.
Face coverings are currently mandatory in the following buildings on the St Mary’s Campus:
- All teaching spaces;
- All corridors;
- The Library and Social Learning Space;
- The Commuter Lounge;
- In any SMU retail or food outlet;
- The Chapel, Crypt and Multi-Faith Prayer room;
- The Exchange building;
- Communal toilet facilities; or
- When you’re using areas in which social distancing cannot be practised.
We will encourage our Summer School students to enjoy the open spaces when they can, from peace walks to outdoor sports, or just to clear the mind.
