We’ll be as flexible as we possibly can, and if Covid-19 means your plans need to change we ask you to get in touch with us as soon as possible via email to wss at warwick dot ac dot uk to discuss options.

FAQ'S

At the moment we intend to run the programme on the Warwick Campus. This is a change as the programme would have run in London previously, however we have decided moving the programme to our own main campus gives us a better chance of being able to run the programme as planned.
We are learning more and more about Covid-19 every day and for the latest guidance and advice from Warwick, visit our website.
At the moment, we plan to run the same Programme which we offered pre-Covid, including face-to-face lectures and seminars, guest lectures and social programme. Any changes to the schedule will be communicated to out to students via email and also noted on our website.

At this stage, we don’t know what the situation will be with regard to Covid-19 but please be assured that should we make any substantial changes to the programme that we will be in contact with you to discuss your options.
The social programme is a key part of the Warwick Summer School, and we want to provide as many opportunities as possible for our students to enjoy their time on campus and experience many of the UK’s cultural highlights with their new friends including the trip to London.

At the moment, we intend on running the events as noted on the website, however we will continue to monitor the situation closely and revise or amend the schedule of events if necessary. We will offer alternatives to any elements of the programme which might be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions, or make alternative arrangements such as dividing participants into smaller groups, or bubbles.

We will keep all participants updated on any developments via email, and via our website.
At this point we won’t rule out any options, we’re hoping that we will be able to run the physical programme on the Warwick campus but we will be monitoring the Covid-19 situation in the UK and overseas carefully over the coming months and would not rule out alternative ways of delivering the programme. Many students were disappointed in 2020 and we would like to make sure that where possible we are able to deliver summer education opportunities to students.
We have updated our terms and conditions which contain full information about what you can do if have to withdraw from the programme because of Covid-19 related travel restrictions, or if you have to self-isolate due to being exposed to Covid-19 prior to travelling to the UK. Other non Covid-19 cancellation policies are also detailed in the Terms and Conditions, so please read them carefully.
In the unfortunate event of cancellation due to Covid-19 then you will receive a full refund of any fees which you have paid. We will make the refund using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction.
We recommend waiting to book your flights until we are 100% certain about the UK’s travel restrictions, we hope to get more information about this in April.

The Warwick Summer School is committed to making sure that students feel safe during the programme.
Warwick is committed to making sure that the campus is safe and has made sure that every aspect is considered to ensure the safety of all those working and learning on site.

Spaces are being regularly checked to ensure they are safe and operating in line with UK Government guidance and activities are only permitted if they have undergone comprehensive risk assessments.

There are social distancing guidelines in place on campus including Perspex screens in reception areas, one way systems in buildings and floor markings. There are signs around buildings to point out social distancing guidelines, face-covering and other useful guidance. Masks/face coverings are madatory indoors at all times.

There are hand-sanitiser points across campus, at the entrances and exits to the buildings, and at places where it is more difficult for people to wash their hands with soap and water. The campus cleaning teams are undertaking repeat cleaning of common ‘touch points’ and have increased the frequency of cleaning for all toilet, bathroom, kitchen and shared spaces. Bathrooms are being regularly restocked with hand soap.

We are encouraging our students to enjoy our open spaces when they can, from peace walks to outdoor sports, or just to clear the mind. For the latest guidance and advice from the University, visit www.warwick.ac.uk/coronavirus

We will open up for accommodation bookings in April, again once we are certain the UK’s travel restrictions have been lifted. We’ll email to let you know the latest and when bookings open. There is plenty of accommodation available for everyone so there is no need to worry about missing out.
