Entry requirements

We amended an error on this course page relating to the BTEC entry requirements.

Previous content:

We welcome applications from students taking BTECs as long as essential subject requirements are met. We are happy to consider applicants who are studying BTECs alongside A Level Chemistry and Biology. We are also happy to consider applicants who have taken the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Applied Science on an individual basis.

Modules

We have removed the Cell Biology of Neurons module from the list of Year One modules - not currently a core module for this degree.

15th September 2022

Following University approval, a new core module has been added to the 'Year One' section, on the 'Modules' tab:

Year One
Cell Biology of Neurons

This module will cover the cell biology of neurons and glial cells of the nervous system. You will learn about the basic structure and functions of these cells and the processes that give rise to them (neurogenesis), allow them to migrate to their correct location, to establish synaptic and other contacts. You will also learn about how these processes can go wrong and give rise to neurodevelopmental conditions.
