We have put together the following advice on receiving your results this year.
We know that waiting for your results can be a stressful time, so to help you think about what you should do over the summer we have put together this information as a guide to what happens next. Whatever your offer status, we hope that you find the content helpful.
IB results
Receiving your IB results from 5 July? Our Admissions Team will start to process all IB results from Monday 8 July and send updates via UCAS later that week.
Once you have your IB results, and if you have the grades for Warwick, you can complete our online form. If you have any questions before completing the form, please speak to our support team via a Clearing live chat (9.30am to 3.30pm on Friday 5 July and Monday 8 July).
We send decisions to UCAS twice a day over the Confirmation period (at lunchtime and again at the end of each day). At these times the data held in UCASwill be updated for you to check your application status.
If your place is confirmed on UCAS and you have received an email from Warwick, there is nothing else you need to do at this stage. Over the coming weeks you will receive information about Welcome Week and joining Warwick in September 2024.
If you have checked UCAS and there is no change in your application status, there are likely to be outstanding conditions to your offer, i.e. verification of GCSE grades or an English language qualification. Please check your offer conditions to see what is outstanding. You will need to provide Admissions with this before we are able to make a decision on your application.
Please note, our Admissions Team will start to process all IB results from Monday 8 July and send updates via UCAS later this week.
If your application is showing as unsuccessful on UCAS it is likely that you have not met the conditions of your offer in full. You have either not met the required grades and/or not achieved a required grade in a specific subject. The University has considered your application and is unable to offer you a place on the course that you applied for. If you are interested in courses that are available in Clearing and meet the entry requirements we would recommend completing our Clearing form (IB results) or contacting the Clearing hotline to discuss this with the team from Thursday 15 August.
We understand that an unsuccessful decision is disappointing but in the majority of courses, competition for places is extremely high so we are not able to accept applicants who do not meet the conditions of their offer in full.
If your application is unsuccessful and you decide to appeal one or more of your results, we would encourage you to speak to your school or college to support you in this process.
The current decision made on your application will not change whilst you are appealing your result. If you are able to provide evidence that you have made a successful appeal, resulting in your grades increasing to meet the terms of your offer in full, and you can provide evidence to the Admissions Service by 4 September 2024, we would honour your original offer.
If your application is unsuccessful and you decide to request a remark in one or more of your results, we would encourage you to speak to your school or college to support you in this process.
It is important to note that remarks are not guaranteed and your grade might go up or down. The current decision made on your application will not change whilst you are going through the remark process, however if you are able to provide evidence that you have made a successful remark, resulting in your grades increasing to meet the terms of your offer in full, and you can provide evidence to the Admissions Service by 4 September 2024, we would honour your original offer.
There are often circumstances that affect an applicant’s performance during their examinations. The Undergraduate Admissions Service contacted all offer holders in July 2024 to give applicants the opportunity to provide details of any mitigating circumstances by 12 July 2024 so that they could be reviewed ahead of the results being published. Each case of mitigating circumstances provided by the deadline is considered very carefully. Unfortunately the Admissions Service is not able to consider new cases after the deadline. We will not be able to accept applicants with mitigating circumstances in all cases.
If you been classed as an Overseas student for tuition fee purposes and wish to have your fees classification reviewed, please fill in our fee assessment questionnaire and return this, along with supporting documents, via our webform as soon as possible. We would also encourage you to read our guidance notes to support the completion of the fee assessment questionnaire.
We hold regular live chats where you can speak directly to our advisers.
If you are receiving your IB results, we have Clearing live chats will be taking place between 9.30am to 3.30pm on Friday 5 July and Monday 8 July.
